Apparently Rudy Ruettiger has his own web site <a href"http://www.rudyinternational.com/" rel="nofollow">www.rudyinternational.com and a speaking/corporate training business.

Cool Beans!

Chris,
I have heard of Rudy doing some motivational speeches around the country.
Jesse Barfield. Went to my high school (about 10 years earlier).

David, do you know what happened to Rudy after college?

The movie sort of ends with that play in the football game. I'm curious to know what became of him.

That's one quality that I wish there was more of...humility.
After all, it's not really about us anyway, right?

By the way, "Rudy" is from my hometown, Joliet, Ill. My dad used to work with one of his brothers. Inspiring guy.

One difference between the two that I'd point out is that Rudy was a real person, while Forest was a fictional character. The fact that it really happened gives his accomplishment a bit more value.

You're right, though. Forest showed humility throughout the story. He just did stuff without getting all hung up about the results.

What i loved about Forrest Gump was that he never put too high a value on himself or his amazing accomplishments. He was just an ordinary man living the life that he was given, in it's fullness. His focus remained on the truly important things in the world instead of individual accomplishments

It's was always used to bug me about the movie "Rudy" (which everyone seems to love). But it was 1 dumb play in a football game! And that was the life's achievment that likely he sat around reminiscing about a meaningless event for years to come.

I'll take Forrest Gump. He's like Paul. Astounding life but continued to call himself the worst sinner. Not self depricating, just humble and willing to do ANYTHING.

The theology of Gump
